Plumbing

Installation of new plumbing systems or alterations to existing plumbing systems, including water heaters, water softeners, backflow preventers, or irrigation systems.

Zoning Permit

Improvements to a parcel that do not require a building permit, including driveways, fences, patios, sport courts, retaining walls less than 4 feet in height, or sheds 200 square feet or less.

Solar Energy System

Installation of a roof-mounted or ground-mounted solar array.

Addition

Addition to an existing building.

Antennae - Building-Mounted

Installation of an antenna mounted on a building or structure.

Beekeeping Permit

A Beekeeping License is required when a person or business keeps bees in the City limits of Eagan.

Chicken Permit

A permit is required to keep, harbor, maintain, possess or otherwise control chickens in the City of Eagan.

Deck

Construction of a new deck or alterations to an existing deck.

Demolition

Demolition of an existing building or structure.

Domestic Partnership

Construction of a retaining wall that is four or more feet in height, measured from the bottom of the wall to the top of the wall.

Excavation, landscaping, or placement of objects in the public Right-Of-Way.

Sewer & Water

Installation or alteration of sewer or water piping on private property.

Accessory Structure - 200+ sf

Construction of an accessory structure that is 200 square feet or larger, including sheds, detached garages, or gazebos.

Sign

Installation of a new sign or alteration to an existing sign.

Solicitor, Peddler, Transient, Merchant

People going door-to-door to sell a product or service in the City of Eagan are required to obtain a Solicitor-Peddler Permit.

People going door-to-door to sell a product or service in the City of Eagan are required to obtain a Solicitor-Peddler Permit.

Land disturbance or site work that has the potential to contribute pollutants into Eagan's municipal stormwater sewer system or waterbodies, required for most new construction projects and additions.

Swimming Pool

Construction of an in-ground or above-ground swimming pool.

Temporary Event

Outdoor event on private property, including sales, fundraisers, arts, music, exhibitions, or another social gathering. 

Temporary Structure

Erection of a temporary structure, including stages, tents greater than 400 square feet, canopies greater than 700 square feet, or greenhouses.

Tobacco
